Frequently asked questions

When reassigning a client to a new caseworker, you’ll have the option to:

  • Leave task assignments unchanged, or
  • Reassign existing tasks to the new caseworker(s).

This ensures that ongoing work is tracked and completed by the correct staff members.

Yes. Multiple staff members can be assigned to a single client. If the original caseworker should retain access, make sure to include them when saving the new staff assignment.

Assign and Reassign Staff

There are two ways to assign or reassign caseworkers to clients.

From the People screen

1. Select the checkbox next to the client(s) or referral(s) you wish to assign, then go to Actions and select Assign Staff.

2. In the Assign Staff window, add one or more staff members by clicking in the input field and selecting from the dropdown list, or by typing their name.

3. (Optional) Select Include intake tasks to automatically generate a standard set of caseworker tasks for new intakes.

4. Click Save.

  • If staff were already assigned to the client, they will be removed from the client’s case unless they’re included in the new staff assignment.

If there are active tasks associated with the client, you’ll have the option to:

  • Leave the task assignments unchanged, or
  • Reassign them to the newly assigned staff.

From a Client Profile

1. Select the Actions button and choose Assign Staff.

2. In the Assign Staff window, add the staff member(s) you wish to assign.

3. (Optional) Select Include intake tasks to automatically create intake-related caseworker tasks.

4. Click Save.

  • If staff were already assigned to the client, they will be removed unless they’re included in the new assignment.

If there are active tasks associated with the client, you’ll have the option to:

  • Reassign them to the newly assigned staff.

Remove Assigned Staff

There are two ways to remove staff assignments from clients.

From the People screen

1. Select the checkbox next to the client(s) or referral(s) you wish to assign, then go to Actions and select Remove Staff.

2. In the confirmation dialogue, select Remove to proceed.

From a Client Profile

1. Select the Actions button and choose Remove Staff.

2. Select Remove in the confirmation dialogue to proceed with the action.

Bulk Assignment

If a staff member leaves or changes roles, you can reassign multiple clients to another caseworker in one operation.

1. From the People screen, open the Filters panel and use the Staff Assignment filter to display all clients assigned to a specific caseworker.

2. Select the checkboxes next to the clients you wish to reassign, then go to Actions and select Assign Staff.

3. In the Assign Staff window, add the new caseworker(s) by clicking in the input field and selecting from the dropdown list, or by typing their name.

4. Click Save.

  • If you’d like the original caseworker to retain visibility of their clients, include them in the new staff assignment.
