Job Seeker Portal
Accessibility Improvements
We’ve introduced a series of accessibility updates to improve the experience for visitors who use a keyboard or screen reader to navigate the portal. These changes include improved labelling, clearer hierarchy, and more consistent focus behaviour on the Job Seeker and Employer registration pages, the WDT toolbar, the portal sidebar, and the dashboard. You may also notice related improvements among form elements throughout the tools, supporting a more accessible and inclusive experience for all.
Cover Letter Generator Enhancements
We’ve introduced a new Matching Templates feature that helps jobseekers create cover letters and resumes with consistent styles. The generator now suggests—or automatically selects—the matching cover-letter template based on the resume chosen.

We also added “Incarceration” as a new option in the Work Gap list to support more accurate explanations of employment gaps.
Job Status Options
We’ve reorganized the Saved Jobs status menu into a more logical, chronological order (e.g., Interested, Applied, Interviewing, I got hired!, Declined, No response) to make it easier for jobseekers to track where they are in the application process.

New Tutorial Videos
We’ve added a full suite of jobseeker tutorial videos throughout the Jobs Portal to provide guided support and help jobseekers get started more confidently. These videos now appear directly within each key section via the Help menu, with contextual placement based on the page a jobseeker is viewing.
A new first-login alert banner also introduces jobseekers to the portal and links to the introductory videos, ensuring new users can access help right away.

Fixes
- Career Library: Fixed an issue where some NOC profiles were missing Job Duties by systematically identifying affected NOCs and importing the correct duties from the official source.
- Job Seeker Registration: Fixed an issue affecting environments with self-registration where jobseekers could add outdated 2016 NOC codes for their past, current, and target occupations; a remediation script was run to update all followed NOCs to their correct 2021 equivalents.
- Sector Library: Fixed an issue where the grey toolbar in the Sector Library did not appear on sub-pages.

Case Note Enhancements
NEW! Bulk Case Notes
We’ve added a Bulk Case Notes feature to the People screen so staff can record shared activities (e.g., job fairs, workshops, trainings) for multiple clients at once. When multiple clients are selected, staff can now select “Add Case Note” from the Actions menu to create a single note that is applied as an individual case note to each selected client, using group-eligible activity types only. This significantly reduces data entry while keeping client histories accurate and consistent.
New Case Note Activity Types
We’ve expanded the available case note activity types to support more precise tracking and documentation. The following options are now available:
- BJO
- Booked Appointment
- Client Meeting (Cancelled)
- Intake (Incomplete)
- Interview
- Returned SA Referral
Updated Communication Activity Types
To improve organization and make communication-related notes easier to find and track, we’ve renamed several existing activity types:
| Previous Labels | New Labels |
|---|---|
| Sent Text | Communication (Text) |
| Sent Email | Communication (Email) |
| Meeting (Telephone) | Communication (Phone) |
| Left Voicemail | Communication (Voicemail) |
Timestamps
We’ve enhanced Case Notes to support full timestamp tracking and editing. Previously, case notes captured only the date—which caused ordering issues, as all notes defaulted to a midnight timestamp. Newly added notes now include accurate timestamps, and with this update, staff can also edit both the date and time on existing notes. This ensures clearer timelines, more accurate records, and better overall case history management.
- Case note editing is only available within the time period configured by your organization’s SSM. After this period, the note becomes locked and can no longer be edited. Learn more about case note locking.
People Search Improvements
We’ve expanded and improved search capabilities on the People screen to make it easier for staff to quickly find the right client.
- Improved Type-Ahead Results: Clients now appear when searching by their preferred name, and type-ahead results are ordered by best match for greater accuracy.
- Search by CaMS Email: Staff can now search using a client’s CaMS email address. Previously, clients could only be found by name or their portal email address.
Fixes
- Employment Action Plan: Fixed several EAP data display issues, including fields showing internal codes. instead of names or dates, and corrected formatting for “Last Updated” to improve readability.
- People / Employment Status Filter: Updated the Employment Status filter on the People screen to pull status from CaMS when a CaMS link is present, falling back to the Job Portal status only when no CaMS data is available.
- Phone Number Validation: Fixed an issue where phone number validation was not being enforced, allowing numbers with fewer than 10 digits to be submitted on intake and profile pages.
- Reports / Top Viewed/Followed: Resolved an issue where the ‘Employer’ column label did not update when switching to Occupations or Sectors views.
Job Board Administration
ESA Compliance
To support upcoming January 1, 2026 changes to Ontario’s Employment Standards Act, 2000, we’ve added a compliance notice and required confirmation step to the job posting form. When users add a job, they now see a summary of the new legal requirements (including salary range transparency, AI use, vacancy status, and Canadian work experience restrictions) and must check “I confirm that this job posting complies with the legal requirements listed above” before submitting a job post.
