Job & Training Events allow organizations to promote opportunities such as job fairs, training sessions, and information events to support clients in their employment journey. Service providers can create, publish, and manage these events directly within the portal, while also controlling whether events are visible publicly or restricted to their own staff and clients.
Understanding Event Visibility & Permissions
Access to view and manage Job & Training Events depends on a user’s role and assigned permissions.
Administrators
Users with the Administrator role can view and manage all job and training events in the Jobs Portal.
Portal Staff
Users with the Portal Staff role must also be assigned permission to manage Training Events. Their level of access depends on the permission level assigned to them:
Caseworker Administration
Portal Staff with this permission can:
- View and manage only the events they have created
- Create, edit, and delete their own events
- They cannot view or manage events created by other staff
Service Provider Administration
Portal Staff with this permission can:
- View and manage their own events, as well as events created by staff within their organization
- Create events for their organization
Service Provider Group Administration
Portal Staff with this permission can:
- View and manage all job and training events in the Jobs Portal
- Create and edit events for any service provider
- Restrict event visibility to specific service providers
Where to Find Job & Training Events
Job & Training Events can be accessed and managed within the Jobs Portal.
From the left-hand portal menu, navigate to My Jobs > Job & Training Events.
This section displays a list of events available to you based on your permissions. From this screen, staff can view and manage events they have access to, including adding, editing, or deleting events.
Search and Filter Job & Training Events
The Job & Training Events list includes tools to help staff find and manage events more efficiently.
Use the keyword search to find a specific event by title. At this time, keyword search supports event titles only.
To further refine the list, select the Filters button located beside the keyword search. The filter panel allows you to filter events by status:
- Active: upcoming events that are currently available
- Pending: job and training events shared through the public submission form that have not yet been approved
- Expired: past events
- Trash: events that have been deleted

Pending events are only visible to:
- Administrators
- Portal Staff with Service Provider Group Administration permission to manage Training Events
This allows authorized users to review publicly submitted events before they are approved and published.
How to Add a Job & Training Event
1. Navigate to My Jobs > Job & Training Events
2. Select + New Event

3. Enter the event details:
- Required:
- Event title
- Description
- Company
- How the event will be promoted
- Start date
- Registration date (for one time events) or end date (for repeating events)
- Duration
- Event type
- Event medium
- Credential
- Cost
- Optional:
- Restrict visibility to specific service providers (based on user permissions)
- 2021 NOC
- 2016 NOC
- Skills
4. Select Save
Once saved, the event will be visible to staff and clients based on the selected visibility settings and the user’s permissions.
Where Clients Can View Job & Training Events
Clients can view Job & Training Events in the Jobs Portal on their dashboard.

Public events are also visible on the public Job Training & Events board. Events that are restricted to specific service providers will appear only to staff and clients associated with the selected service provider.

How to Review and Publish Submitted Events
Job & Training Events submitted through the public submission form must be reviewed before they are published.
1. From My Jobs > Job & Training Events, select Filters beside the keyword search.
2. In the filter panel, change the Status filter to Pending Review.

4. To approve the event, select Publish at the top of the page.

Once published, the event will become visible based on its visibility settings.
