Employer Profile: Locations

The Locations tab provides a central place to review the addresses associated with an employer. Use it to search locations, add new locations, update existing information, and archive locations that are no longer active.

View and find employer locations

Open the employer profile and select the Locations tab. The number of matching locations appears above the table.

  • Search locations: Enter a location name, address, city, or other identifying information in the search field to narrow the list.
  • Include Archived: Turn on this option to display archived locations with active locations.
  • Add Location: Select this button to create a new location for the employer.
  • View: Choose how many locations appear on each page. Use the pagination controls to move through additional results.

Information shown in the locations table

ColumnDescription
Location NameThe name used to identify the location.
TypIdentifies the location as Primary or Alternate. Available options may depend on the employer’s existing locations.
AddressThe street address, unit or suite, additional address details, province, and postal code recorded for the location.
CityThe city associated with the location.
CommentsAdditional information entered for the location.
StatusShows whether the location is Active, Inactive or Archived.
Active PeriodShows when the location became active. Active locations display Present as the current end of the period.
Options menuUse the three-dot menu at the end of a row to edit or archive the location.

Add a location

Add a location when an employer operates from another address or when an address is missing from the profile.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. All other fields are optional.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Locations tab.
  2. Select +Add Location.
  3. Enter a Location Name that describes the location, such as Head Office, Downtown Office, or Warehouse.
  4. Choose the location Type. Choose Primary for the employer’s main location or Alternate for any additional locations. Only one location can be set as Primary.
  5. Enter the Street Address, City, Postal Code, and other applicable location details.
  6. Confirm the From Date.
    This field defaults to the current date. If you know when the location became associated with the employer, enter that date. Otherwise, leave the default date unchanged.
  7. Add any useful information in Comments.
  8. Select Save Location. To save the location and immediately create another one, select Save & Add Another.

Edit a location

Update a location when its address, type, active date, or other details change.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Locations tab.
  2. Open the three-dot options menu for the location.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Update the applicable information.
  5. Select Save Location.

Archive a location

Archive a location when it is no longer active but should remain available for historical reference.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Locations tab.
  2. Open the three-dot options menu for the location and select Archive.
  3. Select Archive in the confirmation dialogue.
  • Important: Archiving a location does not delete it. Archived locations are hidden from the default view but can be displayed by turning on Include Archived.

View or restore archived locations

Use the Include Archived option when you need to review or reactivate a location that was previously archived.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Locations tab.
  2. Turn on Include Archived.
  3. Find the archived location.
  4. Open its three-dot options menu and select Unarchive.
  5. Select Unarchive in the confirmation dialogue.

After it is restored, the location appears in the active locations list again.
