Job posting settings

FieldDescription
Reporting LabelA standardized name used to group related employers together in reports while preserving their separate employer records.
AliasesOne or more secondary employer records that represent the same organization as the current employer profile.
Job Import StrategyDetermines whether incoming job postings from the employer are accepted, flagged for review, or blocked.

Job TagsA taxonomy available on the Job Board and Job Map that allows job seekers to filter job postings using tags assigned to the employer.

Use reporting labels and aliases

Reporting Labels and Aliases both help Job Board Administrators manage related employer records, but they are intended for different situations.

OptionUse it whenExample
Reporting LabelRelated but distinct employers should be consolidated under one reporting name without changing their individual records.Several franchise locations have different owners or legal names but should be grouped under the same franchise name in reports.
AliasMultiple records represent the same employer, usually because of spelling differences, abbreviations, or duplicate records.“Company ABC” and “Company ABC Inc.” refer to the same organization and should be consolidated under one primary employer profile.

When adding aliases from the Job Board Admin tab, the employer profile you are viewing remains the primary record. Select the secondary employer records that should be treated as aliases of it.

Choose a job import strategy

The Job Import Strategy determines how incoming job postings associated with the employer are handled.

OptionDescription

Flag incoming job posts from this employer for reviewMark incoming job postings from the employer so a Job Board Administrator can review them.
Block all job posts from this employerPrevent incoming job postings from the employer from being imported to the job board.

Manage Job Map locations

Job Map Locations displays the employer’s job postings on the Job Map using the employer’s Primary Location. Each location includes:

  • The location name and address
  • Latitude and longitude coordinates, when available
  • A map preview if coordinates are available
  • An options menu for editing or automatically locating the coordinates

Edit map coordinates

Enter coordinates manually when the mapped point needs to be corrected or when precise latitude and longitude values are available.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Job Board Admin tab.
  2. In Job Map Locations, open the three-dot options menu for the location and select Edit Coordinates.
  3. Enter the Latitude and Longitude.
  4. Select Save.

Auto-locate a Job Map location

Use Auto-Locate to generate coordinates from the address saved for the employer location.

  1. Open the employer profile and select the Job Board Admin tab.
  2. In Job Map Locations, open the three-dot options menu for the location and select Auto-Locate.
  • Important: Auto-Locate immediately replaces any existing coordinates for the location. A confirmation message appears when the coordinates are updated. If the address cannot be located, the portal displays an error message.

Find coordinates using Google Maps

If Auto-Locate cannot find the location or the map point needs to be adjusted, use Google Maps to find precise coordinates.

  1. Open Google Maps in a web browser.
  2. Search for the employer location by name or address.
  3. Zoom in and right-click the exact point where the location marker should appear.
  4. At the top of the menu, select the latitude and longitude values to copy them.
  5. Return to the Edit Map Coordinates dialogue and enter the first value in Latitude and the second value in Longitude.
  6. Select Save, and then review the map preview to confirm the marker is positioned correctly.
  • Tip: Google Maps displays coordinates in decimal format as latitude, longitude. Zoom in before right-clicking to improve the accuracy of the marker placement.
