Employer Management will be available beginning September 9, 2026. These help resources have been published in advance to support the upcoming launch.

  • Portal Staff who have permission to view Employers
  • Job Board Administrators
  • Administrators

The Employers screen provides a central directory where you can find employer records, review key information and complete common employer-management tasks.

Select Employers from the portal menu to open the Employer Directory.

View employers

  1. Select Employers from the portal menu.
  2. The Employer Directory displays employer records in a table. Select an employer’s name to open its profile.

Add an employer

Before creating a new employer profile, search the Employer Directory to confirm that the employer does not already exist.

1. From the Employers screen, select + Add Employer.

2. Enter the employer’s:

  • Employer Name: Required
  • City: Optional

3. Select Search.

4. Review the search results:

  • When the employer appears in the results, select Go to Employer Profile. You do not need to create another profile.
  • When the results do not include the employer you want to add, select Continue.
  • When no matching employers are found, select Continue.

5. On the Create Employer Profile form, enter the employer information.

  • Organization details
    • Trading Name
    • Registered Name: Optional
    • Type of Sector
    • Website: Optional
    • Company Size: Optional
    • Primary Phone
    • Alternate Phone: Optional
    • Fax: Optional
    • Description: Optional
  • Primary location
    • Street Address
    • Unit / Suite: Optional
    • Address Line 2: Optional
    • CityProvince
    • Postal Code

Fields marked as optional can be left blank.

Select Save Employer to create the employer profile.

Search employers

Use the search field at the top of the Employer Directory to find an employer by:

  • Employer name
  • CaMS Reference Number

Enter an employer name or reference number in the search field. The table will update to show matching employers.

Bookmark an employer

My Employers provides a quick way to keep track of employers you work with regularly.

  1. Select the bookmark icon beside an employer’s name to add the employer to My Employers.
  2. Turn on the My Employers toggle to display only the employers you have bookmarked.
  3. Select the bookmark icon again to remove an employer from My Employers.

Adding an employer to My Employers does not change the employer record or prevent other staff from accessing it.

Filter employers

Filters help narrow the Employer Directory to employers that meet specific criteria.

  1. Select Filters on the Employers screen to open the filter panel.
  2. Choose how your selected filters should work:
    • Match All: Employers must meet every selected filter. For example, employers with a CaMS link and active Service Plan Cases.
    • Match Any: Employers can meet at least one selected filter. For example, employers in full-service restaurants or food service contractors.
  3. Select filters from any of the following sections:
    • Status
    • Job Board Admin
    • Sectors
    • Service Plan Cases
    • Location
    The Job Board Admin filter is only available to users with an Administrator or Job Board Administrator role.
  4. Select Expand All or Collapse All to open or close every filter section at once.

Your filters are saved automatically. The next time you open the Employers screen, your most recently selected filters will still be applied.

Customize table columns

Use Customize Columns to choose which employer information appears in the Employer Directory.

  1. Select Customize Columns near the top of the Employers table.
  2. Select or clear the checkboxes to show or hide the following columns:
    • Location: The employer’s primary location
    • Contact Name: Your bookmarked contact, or the primary contact if you have not bookmarked a contact
    • Contact Email
    • Contact Phone
    • Sector
    • Top Occupations
    • Service Plan Cases: The number of active and closed CaMS cases associated with the employer. No case information is displayed if the employer profile is not linked to CaMS.
  3. Select Reset to Default at the bottom of the menu to restore the standard column layout.

Add a note to one or more employers

You can use the Employers screen to record the same activity for one or several employers at the same time.

Use this option when the note details apply equally to every selected employer. Add individual notes instead when the activity, outcome or follow-up differs between employers.

  1. Select the checkboxes beside the employers the note applies to.
  2. Open the Actions menu and select Add Note.
  3. Complete the note fields:
    • Date: Defaults to the current date
    • Time: Defaults to the current time
    • Activity Type: Only activity types available for bulk employer activities are shown
    • Employer Contact: Optional
    • Related Client: Optional
    • Notes

Create a follow-up task

You can create a follow-up task while adding the note.

  1. Select Create follow-up task.
  2. Complete the task fields:
    • Task NameClient: Filled automatically and cannot be changed when a Related Client was selected in the note
    • Employer: Filled automatically with the employer’s name and cannot be changed
    • Service Provider: Filled automatically and cannot be changed when a Related Client was selected
    • Who’s Responsible
    • Date: The task due date
    • Does this task repeat?: Select a recurring schedule when applicable
    • Details: Optional instructions or additional information
  3. Select Save Task after entering the task information.
  4. Select Save Note to add the note to the selected employer records.

Email employer contacts

Email a single contact

  1. Locate the contact in the Employer Directory. The Contact Email column must be visible.
  2. Select the contact’s email address.

A new message will open in your default email program with the contact’s email address in the To field.

Email multiple contacts

  1. Select the checkboxes beside the employers whose contacts you want to email.
  2. Open the Actions menu and select Email Selected Contacts.

A new message will open in your default email program. The selected email addresses will appear in the Bcc field so recipients cannot see one another’s email addresses.

Archive and unarchive employers

Archived employers are hidden from the default Employer Directory view but remain available when archived records are included in the Status filter.

View archived employers

  1. Select Filters on the Employers screen to open the filter panel.
  2. Under Status, select Include Archive.

Archived employers will appear at the top of the Employer Directory with a yellow Archived badge.

Archive employers

  1. Select the checkboxes beside the active employers you want to archive.
  2. Open the Actions menu and select Archive employer.
  3. Select Archive in the confirmation dialogue.

Unarchive employers

  1. Use the Status filter to include archived employers in the Employer Directory.
  2. Select the checkboxes beside the employers you want to unarchive.
  3. Open the Actions menu and select Unarchive employer.
  4. Select Unarchive in the confirmation dialogue.
  • Note: The Archive action is unavailable when one or more selected employers are already archived. The Unarchive action is unavailable when one or more selected employers are already active.
